Create a read-only API key on Binance
In Binance: Profile → API Management → Create API. Label it 'TradeInsights', complete 2FA, and under permissions leave only 'Enable Reading' checked. Do NOT enable trading or withdrawals — the journal never needs them.

Copy the key and secret
Binance shows the API secret once at creation. Copy both values — if you lose the secret, just delete the key and create a new one.

Yes. With only 'Enable Reading' checked, the key cannot place orders, transfer, or withdraw — Binance enforces that server-side. Keys are stored encrypted with AES-256, and you can revoke them in Binance at any time.
