Welcome to the TradeInsights knowledge base. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about using our platform, from account setup to advanced analytics features.

Sign Up Methods

TradeInsights offers two convenient ways to create your account:

Email and Password

  1. Click the "Sign Up" or "Get Started" button on the homepage
  2. Enter your full name, email address, and choose a password
  3. Your password must be at least 8 characters long
  4. Click "Create Account" to submit your registration
  5. Check your email inbox for a verification link
  6. Click the verification link to activate your account
  7. You can now log in with your email and password

Google Authentication

  1. Click the "Sign Up" or "Get Started" button
  2. Click the "Continue with Google" button
  3. Select your Google account from the popup
  4. Grant permission for TradeInsights to access your basic profile
  5. Your account is automatically created and verified
  6. You are immediately logged in and can start using the platform
Google sign-up is faster because it skips email verification. Your email address is automatically verified by Google.

Login Flow

To access your TradeInsights account:

  1. Navigate to the TradeInsights website and click "Login"
  2. Enter your email address and password, OR click "Continue with Google"
  3. If using email/password, click the "Sign In" button
  4. If your credentials are correct, you will be redirected to your dashboard
  5. If incorrect, you will see an error message indicating the issue
After 5 failed login attempts, your account may be temporarily locked for security. Wait 15 minutes or use the password reset feature.

Password Reset

If you forget your password, follow these steps to reset it:

  1. On the login page, click "Forgot Password?"
  2. Enter the email address associated with your account
  3. Click "Send Reset Link"
  4. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for the reset email
  5. Click the reset link in the email within 24 hours
  6. Enter your new password twice to confirm
  7. Click "Reset Password" to save your new password
  8. You can now log in with your new password
Password reset links expire after 24 hours. If your link has expired, request a new one by repeating the process.

Session Handling

TradeInsights manages your login sessions to balance security and convenience:

  • Session Duration: You remain logged in for 7 days of activity
  • Inactivity Timeout: After 30 days of inactivity, you will be automatically logged out
  • Multiple Devices: You can be logged in on multiple devices simultaneously
  • Session Security: Sessions are encrypted and stored securely
  • Manual Logout: Click your profile icon and select "Sign Out" to log out
For maximum security, always log out when using shared or public computers.

One-Time Payments (Crypto / Card)

All TradeInsights subscriptions are paid one-time, on-demand. There is no auto-renewal — you renew when you're ready.

How It Works:

  1. Go to the Subscription or Pricing page
  2. Select your desired plan (Premium or Pro)
  3. Choose your billing cycle (Monthly or Annual)
  4. Pick a payment method (Crypto or Card / Bank)
  5. Complete the payment
  6. Your subscription is activated immediately upon payment confirmation

Payment Methods Available:

  • Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, SOL, BNB, TRX (multiple networks)
  • Card / Bank: Major credit and debit cards via Stripe
Subscriptions do not auto-renew. You will receive email reminders before your subscription expires so you can renew on time.

Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions offer the best value for committed users:

  • Pay once per year instead of monthly
  • Save significantly compared to monthly billing
  • Available with both crypto and card payment
  • Full year of access is granted immediately upon payment
Annual plans are perfect for traders who are committed to long-term performance improvement.

What Happens When Your Subscription Expires

Because subscriptions do not auto-renew, there is no "failed payment" scenario. Instead:

  • You receive reminder emails 7 days and 1 day before expiration
  • If you do not renew, your subscription expires on the expiration date
  • Your data is preserved, but premium features become unavailable
  • You can renew at any time to restore access

Renewal

  • Log in to your account before your subscription expires
  • Go to the Subscription page and select your plan again
  • Complete the payment process
  • Your subscription is extended from the current expiration date

TradeInsights accepts cryptocurrency payments across multiple blockchain networks:

Wallet Connect vs Manual Wallet Transfer

Wallet Connect (Recommended)

Wallet Connect allows you to pay directly from your crypto wallet with one click:

  1. Click "Pay with Crypto" on the checkout page
  2. Click "Connect Wallet" and select your wallet (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc.)
  3. Approve the connection request in your wallet
  4. Review the payment amount and click "Confirm Payment"
  5. Approve the transaction in your wallet
  6. Wait for blockchain confirmation
  7. Your subscription is activated automatically

Manual Wallet Transfer

If you prefer to send crypto manually from an exchange or non-Web3 wallet:

  1. Click "Pay with Crypto" on the checkout page
  2. Select "Manual Transfer" option
  3. Choose your preferred network and token
  4. Copy the displayed wallet address (or scan QR code)
  5. Send the exact amount shown to the provided address
  6. Return to TradeInsights and click "I've Made the Payment"
  7. Enter the transaction hash (TXID) from your wallet or exchange
  8. Wait for verification (usually 5-10 minutes)
Always double-check the wallet address and network before sending. Sending to the wrong address or network will result in permanent loss of funds.

Payment Confirmation Process

After you submit a payment, our system verifies it automatically:

  1. Transaction Detected: Our system monitors the blockchain for your transaction
  2. Confirmation Check: We wait for the required number of blockchain confirmations
  3. Amount Verification: We verify the correct amount was received
  4. Subscription Activation: Your account is upgraded immediately upon verification
  5. Email Confirmation: You receive a receipt via email

Typical verification times:

  • Solana, Polygon: Under 2 minutes
  • Ethereum, BSC, Tron: 2-5 minutes
  • Bitcoin: 10-60 minutes (depends on network congestion)

Common Payment Issues & Resolutions

Issue: Payment not detected

Possible causes:

  • Transaction is still pending on the blockchain
  • Sent to wrong address or wrong network
  • Incorrect amount sent

Resolution: Wait 30 minutes and check your transaction on a blockchain explorer. If the transaction is confirmed but not reflected, contact support with your transaction hash.

Issue: Sent wrong amount

Resolution: If you sent less than required, your payment will not be processed. Contact support for options (pay the difference or receive a refund). If you sent more than required, the excess will be credited to your account or refunded upon request.

Issue: Sent to wrong network

Resolution: Unfortunately, funds sent to the wrong network cannot be recovered in most cases. Always verify the network before sending. If you made this mistake, contact support immediately, though recovery is not guaranteed.

Issue: Transaction stuck pending

Resolution: This usually happens when gas fees are too low (Ethereum) or the network is congested (Bitcoin). Wait for the transaction to complete or cancel/speed up the transaction in your wallet if supported.

How to Add Trades

There are multiple ways to add trades to your TradeInsights journal:

Method 1: Manual Entry

  1. Click "Add Trade" in the navigation menu or dashboard
  2. Fill in the required fields (asset, direction, entry price, exit price, quantity)
  3. Add optional details like stop loss, take profit, tags, and notes
  4. Click "Save Trade" to record the trade

Method 2: Broker Integration (Pro plan)

  1. Go to Settings and then Broker Connections
  2. Select your broker (Bybit, Binance, KuCoin, or MT4/MT5)
  3. Enter your API credentials (read-only keys recommended)
  4. Click "Connect" and authorize the connection
  5. Trades will be automatically synced on a schedule

Method 3: CSV Import (Basic plan and above)

  1. Go to Data Management and then Import
  2. Download the CSV template
  3. Fill in your trades following the template format
  4. Upload the completed CSV file
  5. Review the import preview and confirm

Required vs Optional Fields

Required Fields (must be filled for every trade):

  • Asset/Symbol: The trading instrument (e.g., BTC/USD, AAPL, EUR/USD)
  • Direction: Long (buy) or Short (sell)
  • Entry Price: The price at which you entered the trade
  • Exit Price: The price at which you closed the trade (for closed trades)
  • Quantity/Size: The position size or number of units
  • Entry Date: When the trade was opened

Optional Fields (recommended for better analysis):

  • Exit Date: When the trade was closed
  • Stop Loss: Your planned stop loss level
  • Take Profit: Your planned take profit level
  • Fees/Commissions: Trading costs for accurate P&L
  • Strategy: The strategy used for this trade
  • Setup Type: The pattern or setup that triggered the trade
  • Timeframe: The chart timeframe used
  • Tags: Custom labels for categorization
  • Notes: Your thoughts and observations
  • Screenshots: Chart images for reference
  • Emotional State: How you felt during the trade

Editing and Deleting Trades

Editing a Trade:

  1. Go to your Trade History or Dashboard
  2. Find the trade you want to edit
  3. Click the Edit icon (pencil) or the trade row
  4. Modify any fields as needed
  5. Click "Save Changes" to update the trade

Deleting a Trade:

  1. Go to your Trade History
  2. Find the trade you want to delete
  3. Click the Delete icon (trash can)
  4. Confirm the deletion in the popup dialog
  5. The trade is permanently removed
Deleted trades cannot be recovered. Consider exporting your data before deleting trades.

Import/Export

Exporting Your Data:

  • CSV Export: Download all trades as a spreadsheet-compatible file
  • PDF Report: Generate a formatted performance report
  • Filtered Export: Export only trades matching specific criteria

To export: Go to Data Management, select Export, choose your format and date range, then click Download.

Importing Data:

  • CSV Import: Upload trades from spreadsheets or other platforms
  • Broker Sync: Automatically import from connected brokers
  • Template Required: Use our template for manual CSV imports

Metrics Explained

TradeInsights calculates a comprehensive set of performance metrics to help you understand your trading:

Profit and Loss (PnL)

The total monetary gain or loss from your trades. Calculated as: (Exit Price - Entry Price) x Quantity x Direction. Fees are subtracted if recorded.

Win Rate

The percentage of trades that resulted in a profit. Calculated as: (Winning Trades / Total Closed Trades) x 100. A win rate above 50% is generally considered good, but profitability also depends on risk-reward.

Maximum Drawdown

The largest peak-to-trough decline in your account equity. Represents the worst-case scenario loss from your highest point. Lower drawdown indicates better risk management.

Risk-Reward Ratio (RR)

The ratio of potential profit to potential loss. Calculated as: Average Winning Trade / Average Losing Trade. A ratio of 2:1 means you gain $2 for every $1 you risk.

Profit Factor

The ratio of gross profits to gross losses. Calculated as: Sum of Winning Trades / Sum of Losing Trades. A profit factor above 1 indicates overall profitability.

Sharpe Ratio

A measure of risk-adjusted returns. Higher Sharpe ratios indicate better returns relative to the risk taken. Generally, above 1 is acceptable, above 2 is very good.

Average Trade Duration

The average time your trades are open, from entry to exit. Helps identify your trading style (day trading, swing trading, etc.).

Expectancy

The average amount you can expect to win (or lose) per trade. Calculated as: (Win Rate x Average Win) - (Loss Rate x Average Loss). Positive expectancy is essential for long-term profitability.

How Data is Calculated

TradeInsights calculates your performance metrics in real-time based on your recorded trades:

  • Trade-by-Trade: Each trade's P&L is calculated individually using entry/exit prices, quantity, and fees
  • Cumulative: Running totals are maintained for equity curves and overall performance
  • Rolling Averages: Metrics like average win/loss use all closed trades in the selected period
  • Open Trades: Open positions are marked to market but excluded from closed-trade statistics
  • Currency Handling: All P&L is converted to your account's base currency
For the most accurate analytics, always record trading fees and use consistent position sizing units.

Time Ranges and Filters

Analyze your performance across different time periods and segments:

Preset Time Ranges:

  • Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week
  • This Month, Last Month, Last 3 Months
  • This Year, Last Year, All Time
  • Custom date range picker

Available Filters:

  • Asset/Symbol: View performance for specific instruments
  • Direction: Compare long vs short trade performance
  • Strategy: Analyze which strategies work best
  • Tags: Filter by custom tags you've created
  • Outcome: View only winning or losing trades
  • Broker/Account: Separate analysis by trading account

Overview of Dashboard Sections

Your TradeInsights dashboard is organized into several key sections to help you monitor and improve your trading:

Performance Summary

Quick view of your key metrics: total P&L, win rate, profit factor, and drawdown. Updates in real-time as you add trades.

Equity Curve

Visual chart showing your account balance over time. Helps identify growth trends and drawdown periods.

Recent Trades

List of your most recent trades with quick access to edit or view details.

Goals & Targets

Track progress toward your trading goals, such as daily profit targets or maximum loss limits.

Journal Entries

Quick access to your recent journal entries and the ability to create new ones.

How Data Updates

Understanding when and how your data refreshes:

  • Manual Trades: Appear immediately after saving
  • Broker Sync: Automatic sync runs every 15 minutes for connected brokers (Pro plan)
  • Analytics: Recalculated in real-time as trades are added or modified
  • Equity Curve: Updates after each closed trade
  • Manual Refresh: Click the refresh button on any page to force an update
For broker integrations, you can trigger a manual sync from the Broker Connections settings page if you need trades imported immediately.

In-App Support Chat

Click the support widget in the bottom-right corner of any page to start a conversation with our AI-powered support assistant or request human support.

Email Support

Send detailed inquiries to support@tradeinsights.com. Response times: Free users (48 hours), Basic (24 hours), Pro (4 hours), Enterprise (1 hour).

Help Center

Browse our knowledge base for guides, tutorials, and FAQs. Accessible from the Help menu in the navigation.

In-App Support Behavior

The in-app support widget (AssistLayer) is designed to help you quickly:

  • Get instant answers to common questions
  • Troubleshoot issues with AI-powered diagnostics
  • Escalate to human support when needed
  • Track your support ticket status

How It Works:

  1. Click the support icon in the bottom-right corner
  2. Type your question or describe your issue
  3. The AI assistant will attempt to provide an immediate answer
  4. If the AI cannot resolve your issue, click "Talk to Human"
  5. A support agent will respond within your plan's SLA timeframe

Announcements & System Messages

Stay informed about platform updates and important notices:

  • In-App Notifications: Bell icon in the navigation shows new announcements
  • Email Updates: Important updates are sent to your registered email
  • Maintenance Banners: Scheduled maintenance is announced with prominent banners
  • Status Page: Check real-time system status at status.tradeinsights.com
You can customize notification preferences in Settings to control which updates you receive via email.

Subscription Changes

Can I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?

Yes. When you upgrade, you pay the prorated difference for the remaining days in your billing cycle. The new features are available immediately.

Can I downgrade my plan?

Yes. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You retain access to your current plan's features until then. No refunds are provided for unused time.

What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?

Your data is preserved. You can still view all your trades and analytics. However, features exclusive to higher plans (like AI Coach) become unavailable until you upgrade again.

Switching Payment Methods

Can I switch between crypto and card payments?

Yes. When you renew or upgrade, simply choose a different payment method on the Subscription page. Your data and account stay intact across payment methods.

Will I be auto-charged when my subscription ends?

No. TradeInsights subscriptions do not auto-renew. You will receive an email reminder before your plan expires, and you choose whether and when to renew.

Discounts Not Showing

I have a coupon code but it's not working

Coupon codes must be entered on the checkout page before completing payment. Some codes have usage limits or expiration dates. Contact support with your code for assistance.

Payment Delays

My payment was confirmed but my account isn't upgraded

Wait 15 minutes and refresh the page. If still not updated, check your email for payment confirmation. Contact support with your transaction hash if the issue persists.

How long do crypto payments take to verify?

Verification time depends on the blockchain: Solana (under 1 min), Ethereum/BSC/Polygon (2-5 min), Bitcoin (10-60 min). Network congestion can cause delays.

Account Access Issues

I'm locked out of my account

After multiple failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked for 15 minutes. Use the password reset function, or wait and try again. For persistent issues, contact support.

I can't receive the verification email

Check your spam/junk folder. Add support@tradeinsights.com to your contacts. If still not received after 10 minutes, request a new verification email or contact support.

My Google login stopped working

Ensure you're using the same Google account you registered with. Clear your browser cache and try again. If the issue persists, try incognito mode or a different browser.

Can I change my email address?

Yes. Go to Account Settings and click "Change Email." You'll need to verify the new email address before the change takes effect.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Account Settings and select "Delete Account." This action is permanent and will remove all your data. Since subscriptions do not auto-renew, no further charges will occur after deletion.
